Camel Milk Kefir

A tangy, probiotic-rich fermented camel milk drink, made with live kefir grains.

What you need

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Camel Milk, room temperature
  • 2 to 3 tbsp Active Kefir Grains
  • 1 tbsp Honey (optional)

Method

Instructions

  1. Place the kefir grains in a clean glass jar and pour the camel milk over them.
  2. Cover loosely with a breathable cloth secured with a rubber band, do not seal airtight.
  3. Let sit at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, for 24 hours, until slightly thickened and pleasantly sour.
  4. Strain out the kefir grains with a plastic or wood strainer and reserve them for your next batch.
  5. Sweeten with honey if desired and refrigerate the finished kefir for up to one week.
