Breakfast & Morning Starters
What you need
Ingredients
- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 3 cups whole goat's milk
- 1 cup water
- Pinch of salt
- 4 fresh figs, quartered
- 3 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling
- 1/4 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
Method
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan and stir in the oats and salt.
- Reduce heat to low and add the goat's milk gradually, stirring often — adding it in stages rather than all at once helps prevent the milk from breaking over sustained heat.
- Simmer gently, stirring every few minutes, for 20-25 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Stir in the honey off the heat.
- Divide among bowls and top with fresh figs, toasted walnuts, and an extra drizzle of honey.
