Oat Milk Soothing Balm for Sensitive Skin

Calendula-infused oil is a folk-remedy staple for compromised skin, traditionally used for its skin-soothing reputation, and pairing it with oat milk's beta-glucans stacks two calming actives in one anhydrous (water-free) balm.

What you need

Ingredients

  • Phase A (Wax & Oil Phase)
  • ¼ cup (55g) Raw Shea Butter (Vitellaria paradoxa)
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL / 28g) Calendula-Infused Carrier Oil
  • 2 tbsp (28g) Beeswax Pellets
  • Phase B (Dry Active)
  • 2 tbsp (15g) Oat Milk Powder

Method

Instructions

  1. In a double boiler over low heat, combine shea butter, calendula-infused oil, and beeswax pellets until completely melted (approximately 65°C).
  2. Remove beaker from heat.
  3. Sift oat milk powder directly into molten oils while whisking continuously to prevent clumping.
  4. Pour molten balm into clean, sanitized tin containers or glass jars.
  5. Allow to solidify completely at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  6. APPLICATION
  7. Warm a pea-sized portion between fingertips to soften.
  8. Massage into dry spots, chapped cheeks, or irritated skin patches as needed.
