Everything You Need to Know

Why is camel milk different from cow's milk?

Camel milk isn't simply another version of dairy.

It has a different protein structure, different fat distribution, and a naturally lighter mouthfeel than cow's milk. These characteristics give it a unique culinary personality that many cooks appreciate in baking, coffee, sauces, and desserts.

Rather than trying to imitate cow's milk, camel milk offers its own strengths, which is why we've dedicated our cookbooks and recipe collection entirely to learning how to cook with it successfully.

What does camel milk taste like?

Camel milk has a clean, refreshing flavor that is often described as lightly sweet with subtle mineral notes. Unlike cow's milk, it isn't heavy or overly rich, making it an excellent choice for both drinking and cooking. Its delicate flavor allows coffee, chocolate, vanilla, herbs, spices, and fresh produce to shine rather than being overpowered by the milk itself.

Can I cook and bake with camel milk?

Absolutely. Camel milk is incredibly versatile and can be used in everything from coffee drinks and smoothies to artisan breads, soups, sauces, curries, custards, ice cream, cheesecakes, and baked desserts.

While it can often be substituted cup-for-cup for cow's milk, its unique protein structure may produce a lighter texture in some recipes. That's why we've developed recipes specifically designed around camel milk rather than simply substituting it.

Explore our growing recipe collection and cookbooks to discover everything camel milk can do in the kitchen.

Can I freeze camel milk?

Yes. In fact, we freeze our camel milk at peak freshness to preserve quality during shipping.

To thaw, place the bottle in your refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours. Once thawed, shake gently before serving, as natural separation may occur.

Do not microwave to thaw.

How long will camel milk last?

Keep camel milk refrigerated after thawing.

For the best flavor and culinary performance, enjoy it before the Best By date printed on the bottle. Once opened, we recommend consuming it within several days while keeping it refrigerated between uses.

Always use normal food safety practices. If the product develops an unusual odor, appearance, or flavor, discard it.

Can I froth camel milk for coffee?

Yes. Camel milk creates a pleasant microfoam for many espresso drinks and specialty coffees.

Because its protein composition differs from cow's milk, it won't behave exactly the same, but many coffee lovers appreciate its silky texture and naturally clean finish.

It's particularly excellent in lattes, cappuccinos, cortados, and iced coffee.

Is your camel milk pasteurized?

Yes.

Our Plain Camel Milk is gently pasteurized to provide a safe, high-quality product while preserving the clean flavor and culinary versatility that make camel milk so unique.

If you're looking for our raw camel milk, it is available separately where permitted by law.
